Privacy Policy

FamSync ("we", "us", or "our") is a family calendar coordination service operated by Huo Life. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use FamSync — including our web application at famsync.huo.life, iOS app, and Android app (collectively, the "Service").

By using FamSync you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1What We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in via Google or Microsoft OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and a unique provider ID. We do not receive or store your password.

1.2 Calendar Data

We access your calendar via Google Calendar API or Microsoft Graph API. Specifically, we read and store:

• Event title and time range (start / end)
• Whether an event is an all-day event
• Calendar name and color

We do not access or store event descriptions, locations, attendee lists, video-conference links, or attachments.

1.3 Family & Member Data

Family name, member names, school schedule settings, and children's names you optionally enter in Settings.

1.4 Usage Data

Standard server logs: IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, timestamps. We use this for security and to improve the Service. This data is not sold.

2How We Use Your Information

• Display a merged family calendar view showing both partners' schedules
• Detect scheduling conflicts and childcare gaps
• Send the weekly digest email summary (every Monday)
• Authenticate you and maintain your session
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve and debug the Service

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or calendar data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.

3Calendar Permissions

FamSync requests the following OAuth scopes:

Write access is requested so that future features (e.g., adding shared events) can work without re-authorization. At this time, FamSync only reads your calendar events and does not create, modify, or delete any events.

You may revoke calendar access at any time from your Google Account settings or Microsoft Account settings, and from FamSync Settings → Disconnect Calendar.

4Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Within your family group: Family members you invite can see your calendar events (title and time only) within the FamSync interface.
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (transactional email). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred. We will notify you in advance.

5Data Retention

Calendar event data is synced and stored while your account is active. If you disconnect a calendar or delete your account, associated calendar data is deleted within 30 days. Account information (email, name) is retained for up to 90 days after account deletion for fraud prevention, then permanently deleted.

6Security

OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. We use row-level security in our database to ensure family members can only access their own family's data. We do not store passwords.

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at famsync@huo.life.

7Children's Privacy

FamSync is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Children's names entered in the "children's schedule" settings field are used solely for scheduling calculations and are not associated with any account or email address.

If you are a parent and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

9International Data Transfers

FamSync is operated from the United States. Your data is stored on servers located in the United States (Vercel / Supabase infrastructure). If you are located outside the United States, by using FamSync you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States for processing, subject to appropriate safeguards.

10Platform-Specific Notes

iOS (Apple App Store)

The iOS app uses Sign in with Apple or OAuth to authenticate. We access calendar data only after you grant permission via iOS system prompts. You may revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Calendars. We comply with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines regarding data collection disclosures.

Android (Google Play)

The Android app requests calendar permissions via the Android permissions system. You may revoke these at any time in Android Settings → Apps → FamSync → Permissions. We comply with Google Play's User Data policy.

Web App (PWA)

The web app uses browser OAuth flows to connect your calendar. No local storage of sensitive tokens occurs in the browser — authentication is handled server-side. We use cookies solely for session management.

11Cookies

We use only essential cookies necessary for authentication (session token). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the effective date above. Continued use of FamSync after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
